Orbi Send privacy policy

Orbi Send is email marketing for Shopify stores: sign-up forms, contacts, automated flows, campaigns and shipping updates. This policy explains what data the app collects when a merchant installs it, how we use it and who we share it with. Scalechart LLC is the data processor; the merchant is the controller of their customers' data.
Data we collect
- Store details (name, domain, email, currency, language) and the store owner's sender name and email.
- Customer data the store shares with us through Shopify: email address, first and last name, phone, address country, marketing consent, and order and checkout details (products, totals, dates, fulfilment and tracking numbers).
- Storefront events from our web pixel, only for visitors who consented: products viewed, items added to cart and checkouts started.
- Email delivery events (delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, complained, unsubscribed).
How we use it
- To send the store's own emails on its behalf: flows, campaigns and shipping updates.
- To build segments, show reports and attribute revenue to emails inside the app.
- To honour unsubscribes and suppress addresses that bounce or complain.
We never sell personal data and never use one store's data for another store.
Who we share it with
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES) to deliver email, and Fly.io for hosting and our database.
- OpenAI, only the store's public brand information and product names, to draft email copy. Customer personal data is never sent to OpenAI.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept while the app is installed. When a merchant uninstalls, we stop processing and delete the store's data within 48 hours of Shopify's shop redaction request. Customer data is deleted or anonymised when Shopify sends a customer redaction request, and we answer customer data requests through the merchant.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, access is limited to the staff who need it, and the app only requests the Shopify access it uses.
Your rights
Customers can exercise their GDPR and CCPA rights through the store they bought from. Merchants can contact us at support@scalechart.app.
